mechanical methods. The process equipment needs to be cleaned, one way or the other, to improve the operational efficiency, to avoid mechanical failure, to avoid or reduce start-up problems, etc. The chemical cleaning process, in short, will be used to remove any inorganic and organic contaminants, mill scale, and corrosion (various types of scales) deposits and leave the system passive. There are various solvents and solutions to choose depending on the nature of fouling and system metallurgy. The application methodology also differs as per the configuration of the system to be cleaned. Fin Fan foam cleaning is another type of methodology comes under the purview of chemical cleaning.
